Questions & Answers

3-Day Private Petra Tour — FAQ

Three reasons: (1) Private means just your group in a private vehicle — no van-sharing with strangers. (2) An extra full day means an extra night of accommodation (3-star hotel near Petra). (3) Much more time at Petra — closer to a full day inside instead of 4–5 hours. If you're traveling with 2–4 people, the per-person cost is much closer to the 2-day group tours than the headline number suggests.

The hotel is in Wadi Musa (Petra) — a comfortable, modern 3-star property with private bathrooms, AC, and breakfast included. Not a luxury resort, but comfortable, clean, and a real bed between two long days of travel. Reviewers consistently mention it positively.

This tour uses a Classic Tent at the Wadi Rum camp — traditional Bedouin-style with shared bathroom facilities. If a Bubble Tent (transparent dome for stargazing) is important to you, see our 2-Day Bubble Tent tour.

Yes — within reason. Since this is a private tour, your driver can adjust timing (start later, take longer breaks, stop at extra viewpoints). The major stops (Petra, Wadi Rum, Dead Sea) are fixed, but the pace is yours. Just talk to your driver on Day 1.

Highly recommended if you're staying 3+ nights in Jordan. The Jordan Pass ($99–$117) covers your visa fee + Petra entry + Wadi Rum + 40 other sites. If you have a Jordan Pass, the Transport + Accommodation package is the sweet spot. If you don't, the All-Inclusive package bundles everything.

Yes — Petra by Night runs on select evenings (typically Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 8:30–10:30 PM, ticketed separately). Since you stay overnight in Wadi Musa next to Petra on Day 1, it's logistically easy. Just let your driver know in advance.

Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) are ideal — mild days, cool desert nights. Summer is hot, especially the Dead Sea. Winter is quiet but desert nights can drop below 5°C — pack warm layers.

What travelers say

★★★★★
“We enjoyed several days of travel in Jordan including Petra and Wadi Rum with our guide Anees. He is friendly and seems to know everybody around Jordan. He looked after us and found good places to eat, cared very much about his country, and wanted us to have the best experience. He even found a great hotel for us at the last minute. Highly recommend.”

“Safwat was an excellent driver. Good conversation, good English, and helped in so many ways — making sure I had English-speaking guides. The ride was comfortable, water available every morning. He introduced me to true Jordanian cuisine. Petra was amazing; he prepared us for lots of walking and steps to the Monastery.”

“Our guide Mohamed was very helpful in every way. I had been to Jordan before, but I enjoyed this trip even more thanks to the tour. Jordan is definitely one of the countries to visit for its culture, cuisine, historical sites, and people. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour.”
