“Dana was the unexpected highlight of our Jordan trip. Our local guide knew every plant and bird, and we saw ibex on the cliffs above us. The pace of 4 days was perfect — never rushed, plenty of time at Petra, and the bubble tent in Wadi Rum was magic.”

4-Day Dana + Petra + WR + Dead Sea — FAQ
Yes — Dana is increasingly considered Jordan's most overlooked highlight. Travelers who include it almost always rate it the most memorable part of their trip. It's the only place in Jordan with all four bio-geographic zones in one reserve, and it offers quiet nature far from tour buses. If you've done Petra and Wadi Rum before and want something different, Dana is the reason to come back to Jordan.
It's flexible. The local guide adapts the hike to your fitness and time. Options range from a short Dana Village walk (2 km, 1 hour) to a half-descent into Wadi Dana (4–6 km, 2–3 hours). The full Wadi Dana Trail (14–16 km, 5–7 hours) is possible if you start early and request it in advance. You don't need to be a hardcore hiker — comfortable walking shoes and water are enough for the shorter trails.
Yes — each bubble tent is a private unit for your group, with its own bathroom, AC, a real double bed, and a lockable entrance. You won't share with strangers. The bubble itself is the transparent dome ceiling that lets you see the night sky.
For Jordan's top four sights (Dana, Petra, Wadi Rum, Dead Sea), 4 days is well-paced. Each day has time for the main attractions without rushing. If you want to add Jerash or Aqaba, consider the 5-day Jordan Highlights tour instead. For just Petra + Wadi Rum without Dana, the 3-day private tour is cheaper at $257/person.
Three differences: Dana Biosphere Reserve added on Day 1 (a full day of hiking and an overnight in the canyon); a bubble tent in Wadi Rum instead of a regular Bedouin tent; and all meals plus entry tickets bundled — no extra payments during the trip. The 3-day tour is faster-paced and cheaper ($257 vs $669).
Spring (March–May) is ideal — wildflowers bloom across Dana, moderate temperatures for hiking, comfortable nights in Wadi Rum, and warm enough at the Dead Sea. Autumn (September–November) is the second-best window. Summer is hot in Petra and the desert; winter desert nights can drop near freezing.
Yes — 9 meals total: 3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 3 dinners. Breakfast and dinner are served at your accommodation each evening; lunch is at restaurants or the Dead Sea resort. Non-alcoholic drinks are typically included at meals; alcoholic beverages are not.
Yes — airport pickup is included at no extra cost. If your flight lands in the morning, you can head straight to Dana the same day. For late arrivals, you may need to overnight in Amman first (not included in the tour price).
What travelers say
Rated 4.5 on GetYourGuide.
“All-inclusive meant we never opened our wallets after Day 1. Worth every dollar. The Petra day was full and we still had time at the Monastery. Dead Sea day use was a great way to end before flying out.”
“Loved Dana and the bubble tent — would do both again. The 4 days felt complete: nature, history, desert, and the Dead Sea without the rush of shorter tours. Driver was excellent and accommodating with timing.”
